I love parties. I love planning them, hosting them, shopping for them and dreaming about them. I think there is magic in creating an experience when someone walks in the door and I truly have FUN pulling that together.
This year, I wanted to throw something super vibrant, colorful and meaningful for Adelaide's 2nd birthday. She has a few favorite things: moose, cats, puppies, tea parties, any fruit and swimming. I decided to focus on her love of fruit and throw her a "Two-Tti-Fruitti" birthday.
We pulled together a menu of fruity goodness including watermelon pops, my staple cheese board and veggie platters, and fruit punch. I found these colorful sunglasses and pineapple glasses so everyone could take a bit of the magic home, too.
The Coop helped me pull together so many of the tiny details - table cloths, napkins, forks to cake stands to make this one of the easiest parties we have held yet! The Confetti Bar added some sparkle to...

I talked about how as a working momma, one of the hardest things to do is to plan a party. I get so overwhelmed with picking out the themes, colors, and food. As we approach the holidays, this anxiety to be 'perfectly balanced' really gets to me. Really the food and decor are what gets me every time. I also have this strange LOVE of planning parties so it's funny how the thing that stresses me out the most also makes me the most happy. Before sharing a re-cap of our 2nd Birthday for Adelaide, I wanted to share 5 quick tips on how to make an epic, yet simple party while balancing all of the things! I'm hoping this post is timely for all the mommas out there looking to plan holiday parties as we gear up for the holiday season!
1. Outsource your 'weaknesses' or the most -time consuming - There are some things I'm just not good at: cooking, baking, tiny details, and patience of setting up all.the.decor. and using tape. I also get super overwh...
My mother and sister threw the most perfect baby shower for our little man! I know there are conflicting thoughts on holding a shower for a second kid, but we wanted to celebrate this second baby, especially since this time, we're having a boy!!
Located at the super quaint Texas Keeper Cidery, we had full access to a bunch of toys and outdoor space for the kiddos to run around and play!
The theme was succulents and they did a beautiful job. They decorated the inside of the cidery with a gorgeous 6ft white balloon garland from StarrofTexasMemories along with some greenery from hobby lobby. My mom and sister even got mini succulents for everyone to take home afterwards!
The food was delicious, too! Texas Keeper served delicious ciders, cheese boards and snacks. Crema made some great gluten free succulent cookies and a gluten free Italian Creme cake. The cake topper and greenery were from Amazon.

Y'all know how much I love decorating, so I am excited to reveal a part of Baby Boy's new nursery to everyone today! We were inspired by the great outdoors, starlit evenings and as Adelaide calls them, "ani-maaaals," so we put up wallpaper with stars over a tribal-like / jungle-like decor.
I've been very intentional about adding more color into our home recently and after putting together Adelaide's toddler room, wanted something equally bold for our new son's room. I scoured Pinterest and the inter-webs and finally came across a simple crib, some fun wall-paper from Target and amazing art pieces from Minted. My mom is currently working on a handmade quilt to replace this blanket we got during our engagement in Mexico, but for now, I love how it adds a pop of color to the neutral hues.
So when looking for some fun art for the walls, I started looking around for places where I could print art out and get...
